Smells moldy and mattress is like a rock. Don't get cabin 6
I've recommended them to several people with kids.
After an hour, the owner came on his four- wheeler. He was, of course followed by his dogs. Once he parked and we came out of the water, he pulled out some gold pans and show us how to pan for gold. When he was finished, he took his dogs and left.
Called to reserve a cabin, the man was very rude and said he didn't know if he had any cabins available and he wouldn't check because it was Sunday and he was wanting to eat dinner. He could of worked with me and called me back but no. Terrible service. He also needs to separate his business line and personal line that is how he treats people asking about his business.
This place is PERFECT if you are looking for quiet, secluded, primitive camping. This is privately owned so it does not have the "hustle and bustle" of a state park. The owner Tom and his right hand man Ed are friendly, down-home people. Ed is there all day and night making sure everything is taken care of and people stay quiet (they are real big on this.) I had to call him several times, once because we got our truck stuck in the mud haha and he came by with a tractor and pulled it out, and the other few times to have firewood delivered to our campsite (which they will do for $20 and it is a lot of wood!) The restrooms/showers were clean. Dogs, ducks, chickens and roosters walk the property and offer some entertainment. They also offer canoeing and/or kayaking and will load you up in a van and go drop you off up river and you easily float back to camp where they will pick you back up. It was the perfect place for us picky campers that are always looking for a quiet, secluded place to camp!
Very nice people and right next to kiamichi River
While he was gone, my son found a "nugget" the size of a pencil lead. I didn't think the boy would ever stop dancing!
I went with my family on a warm day during the off-season. We just wanted to swim for a couple of hours.
I have been to many campgrounds and never has any of the employees or owners been as intuitive as that.
